Marco Simoncelli, who sadly died in a fatal road accident at the Malaysian MotoGP on Sunday 23 October 2011, was a leading eSafety Ambassador who advocated the deployment of the life-saving anti-lock braking system on motorbikes for use on all roads.

Earlier this year he participated in the annual eSafety Challenge which took place on 31 May in Teesdorf (Austria), along with other top drivers, to demonstrate the road safety benefits of eSafety systems. After his demonstration of ABS for motorbikes, he gave his full support for the wide-spread use of the technology by motorcyclists.

eSafetyAware Secretary General Jacob Bangsgaard said, “Marco Simoncelli will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a committed road safety ambassador who supported our campaign to make ABS mandatory for motorbikes on all roads”.
