eSafetyAware in collaboration with FIA Foundation and the European Commission and supported by its platform of 37 members, will be organising the eSafety Challenge event in Vallelunga, Italy on 8-9 September 2009. The event is organised jointly with the Automobile Club of Italy and will be opened by European Commission Vice President Antonio Tajani. The eSafety Challenge will promote the deployment of innovative vehicle safety technologies capable of reducing the number of fatalities on European roads.
The event will include:
- Demonstrations of eSafety technologies, including ESC, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Support Systems, Speed Alert, and Warning and Emergency Braking Systems. The demonstrations will feature Formula One drivers like Felipe Massa.
- Targeted discussions on deployment support and the obstacles to be tackled both from a safety, industry, legal, and user perspective
- An eSafety exhibition presenting the latest advanced in-car safety technologies
- Prizes for the best eSafety marketing campaign, eSafety training programme and eSafety dealer of the year
The event is intended as a meeting point for worldwide road and vehicle safety communities, policy makers, press and end user groups. The eSafety Challenge website will periodically updated with information about the event.
