eSafety material was distributed at the FIA Foundation stand to the participants at the first Global Ministerial Conference on road safety held in Moscow 19 & 20 November 2009. More than 70 ministers from countries across the world participated in this important event which was hosted by the Russian President Medvedev.

In his speech to the conference, the UK Transport Minister Paul Clark reminded delegates that during the two days of the summit more than 7.000 people had died on the roads. “This cannot be right. This can and must be prevented”, he said. “We must go from here determined to make a difference. We are the people to act. This is the time for action”. David Ward, Director General of the FIA Foundation, urged ministers to act. “You are the people who can make the Decade a reality”, he said. Mr Ward chaired a high level session of vehicle technologies at the conference where eSafetyAware partners DEKRA, SRA, and ACEA also gave presentations.

eSafetyAware partner Bosch provided the opportunity to try their new ABS/ESC simulator and they took the opportunity to show the eSafety Challenge video to the participants. Bosch has also developed a new active display for Emergency Braking that was presented at their stand.
