On 14 September 2010, the eSafety Challenge consortium took part with an information stand at an exhibition organised in the scope of an eSafety event in Berlin-Tempelhof, Germany. The event aiming at fleet managers and media, and organised under the patronage of Peter Ramsauer, German Minister for Transport, featured also the appearance of Formula 1-star Nico Rosberg.
Speaking to more than 100 fleet managers and members of the press, Rosberg said: "I am impressed how well these eSafety systems work. We have to get the message across to car-users that eSafety technologies can save lifes and that they should ask for it next time they buy a car". Rainer Bomba, Secretary of State in the German Transport Ministry added: "eSafety technologies can assist the driver in emergency situations and can help to avoid the critical situation occurring in the first place." To underline these statements, Mercedes-pilot Nico Rosberg performed live demonstrations of crucial eSafety Systems such as ESC, Emergency Brake Assist and Lane Change Assist. The day was closed by a panel discussion, where experts such as André Seeck, President of Euro NCAP; Ulrich Klaus Becker, Vice-President of ADAC; Dr Gwehenberger, Head of Accident Research of the Allianz Center for Technology, discussed with fleet managers the usage of eSafety systems in fleets.
