Jyvaskyla 29 July 2010


The eSafety Challenge team has been present with information on eSafety technologies at the FIA Road Safety Seminar in Jyvaskyla, Finland. The event took place in connection with Finnish round of the the World Rally Championship (WRC) on 29 July 2010, and was organised by the Finnish Motorsport club (AKK) together with the Make Roads Safe campaign.

The eSafety on Board information stand was located in the main hall of Jyvaskyla Paviljonki, venue of the Rally Service Park and the WRC Event Head Quarters, and was visited by hundreds of rally fans. The eSafety on Board stand gave motorsport enthusiasts the opportunity to learn about the background and benefits of advanced vehicle safety technologies such as Electronic Stability Control, Lane Support Systems, Blind Spot Monitoring, Warning and Emergency Braking Systems, Speed Alert, and Adaptive Headlights. A video explaining the technologies and quoting supportive celebrities such as F1-legend Michael Schumacher was also on show. Two eSafety dummies distributed information material and give-aways, and took pictures with the many visitors of the rally service park.

 

The eSafety message was also presented during the FIA Road Safety Seminar. Speakers included Jean Todt, President of eSafetyAware and FIA; together with Mauri Pekkarinen, Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs; David Ward, Director General of the FIA Foundation; and former Formula 1 driver, Alex Wurz.
